Pine Ridge Lodge, established in 1948 as Pine Haven Lodge, was originally constructed by Pug Smith, a professional boxer.  He and his wife lived in the nearby cabin while they built the main lodge as well as much of its furniture and fixtures.  Much of what he built remains intact today.  After years of construction the Smiths opened the main lodge to the public in 1948 as a hunting/fishing camp, providing guide service, lodging and meals to their guests. The Smiths sold Pine Haven to the Burgam family in the early 60's.  The Burgams were affiliated with Pepsi Bottling and utilized the compound for their personal use and as a corporate retreat.  During their ownership several additions were made to the main structure.



Pine Haven Lodge sat vacant for several years after the Burgams passed away, until finally in 1993 the current owners, Doug and Suzan Stiles, developed the vision of the present-day facility.  After eleven months of renovations they opened their doors again to the public under the name of Pine Ridge Lodge.  The business has operated continuously since December of 1994 to the present, where they still offer the finest accommodations, meals and recreational experience in Northeast Michigan.

Pine Ridge is the perfect all-season vacation retreat, located in Northeast Michigan, just 3 1/2 hours from the Metro areas of Southern Michigan, but seemingly a world away! Whether you're looking for that quiet getaway or endless outdoor adventure and recreation, Pine Ridge has it all.
